We the Pedestrians: Sonagachi, June 5: In a unique and impactful initiative on World Environment Day, a distinctive environmental awareness program unfolded in Kolkata’s Sonagachi area. “Amra Padatik” (We the Pedestrians), an organization run by the children of sex workers, spearheaded a public awareness event centered around the theme: “End Plastic Pollution.”
Recognizing the profound significance of this day, the organizers went beyond merely hosting an event; they delivered a crucial social message—emphasizing the imperative of collaborative action to foster a pollution-free, green, and sustainable environment.
