NCC Naval: The NCC Naval Cadets successfully concluded their challenging 20-day river expedition, covering a distance of 410 km along the river route from Farakka to Kolkata. The NCC vessel returned and docked at the Man-of-War Jetty near Millennium Park at 9 AM this morning, marking the successful completion of the special journey.
The Expedition Details
A total of 60 cadets, including both boys and girls, participated in this ambitious campaign. The primary aim of this special mission was to inform the general public about the scope of NCC’s work and provide assistance on how citizens can avail the help of the NCC when needed.
Community Outreach and Social Impact
During the 410 km journey along the Hooghly River, the cadets were actively engaged in various social and community development activities at stops including Nabadwip, Baharampur, Katwa, Kalna, Chinsurah, and Farakka Ghat.
Tree Plantation: They conducted extensive tree planting drives along the riverbanks.
Social Development Work: The cadets took part in various social upliftment programs.
Anti-Pollution Message: They actively campaigned and spread messages against pollution.
Orphanage Visits: Cadets visited local orphanages to interact with and support the children.
Community Interaction: They engaged in discussions and exchanged views with local residents.
This expedition not only served as an adventurous training exercise for the naval cadets but also played a crucial role in raising civic awareness and strengthening the bond between the NCC and the local communities along the Hooghly River.
