“If you make your books your friends and studying your hobby, then achieving such results becomes possible,” says 16-year-old Srishti Sharma from Panchkula. Her CBSE Class 10 results have left everyone in Haryana astounded. This remarkable young woman has secured a perfect 100 percent in her board examinations.
Srishti reveals that she dedicated 17 to 18 hours, sometimes stretching up to 20 hours, to studying at home each day. Importantly, she navigated her entire academic journey independently, without any reliance on tuition classes. Srishti’s secret to success has now become a source of inspiration for many around her.
A student of Bhavan Vidyalaya in Panchkula’s Sector 15, Srishti only narrowly missed a perfect score in Social Science, losing just one mark. However, under the CBSE’s ‘Best of Five’ rule, which considers the scores of the five best-performing subjects, Srishti achieved a flawless 500 out of 500. Speaking to the Hindustan Times, Srishti shared, “I already knew where I went wrong. It was a multiple-choice question, and I made a silly mistake. I was crying when I returned home.”
This determined teenager from Haryana clarified that unlike many of her peers, she did not attend any extra coaching or tuition classes. Instead, she focused intently on the study material provided by her school. As she told the news agency PTI, “I never took any extra coaching classes. My entire preparation was based on the resources provided by the school. I dedicated a maximum of 20 hours every day to my studies. Not a single word written in any NCERT book was left unread by me.”
Despite the minor setback in Social Science, Srishti maintained a strong sense of confidence throughout the examination period. She credits her teachers and parents for constantly motivating her to give her best and avoid any regrets after the results. Srishti further added, “My father is my biggest inspiration. He always had faith in me, and he always knew I could perform so well. He never pressured me. I didn’t expect to score so well, but I knew I had given my best.”
Looking ahead, Srishti has set her sights on pursuing Computer Science Engineering from IIT Bombay.
Sharing her success mantra with other students, she advises, “Always believe in yourself and work hard. If you can’t, then leave it to God and focus on doing your best. Good things will only come your way if you are a good human being who doesn’t look down on others. If you make your books your friends and studying your hobby, then this kind of result is achievable.”
