Young Bolpur Boy Sets Example: BOLPUR, BIRBHUM – A heartwarming display of environmental consciousness has emerged from Bolpur, where a young boy has set a remarkable precedent. Nine-year-old Parijat Bhattacharya, a student at a local Bolpur school, was on his way home from school, as usual, when he stumbled upon an unfamiliar aquatic creature: a Black Pond Turtle.
Driven by curiosity and compassion, Parijat brought the turtle home and diligently cared for it for two days. Later, Parijat and his family conducted some research and discovered that the creature was, in fact, a rare and endangered species in need of special conservation efforts.
Upon this realization, the child and his family wasted no time. They promptly handed the turtle over to the Bolpur Forest Department, ensuring it could be safely released into a suitable natural habitat.
Officials from the Forest Department highly commended Parijat’s initiative, emphasizing that such actions highlight the potential for environmental awareness to blossom from a young age, provided children receive the right education and values from their families and society.
Parijat’s small step carries a significant message:
“Protecting nature isn’t solely the responsibility of adults; even children can play a major role.”
The Positive Barta family salutes this young environmentalist’s sincerity and sense of responsibility.
