He was recently conferred with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, the highest civilian honor in India for children aged 5 to 18. The Bal Puraskar is awarded to young achievers who demonstrate excellence across various fields, including sports, bravery, innovation, social service, and culture. Vaibhav was among an elite group of 20 youngsters recognized this year for their exceptional contributions to the nation’s pride.
While his peers were competing on the field, Vaibhav’s presence at the Presidential palace meant he had to miss Bihar’s Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Manipur. This absence caught many by surprise, especially following his jaw-dropping 190-run knock against Arunachal Pradesh in the previous fixture.

During the ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu hailed the awardees as the future torchbearers of the country.
“Your achievements are an inspiration to the entire nation. Each child honored today is equally significant and valuable. It is because of such talented youth that India continues to shine on the global stage,” the President remarked.
She also extended her gratitude to the parents and families of the winners, acknowledging that behind every young achiever lies a strong foundation of domestic support and sacrifice.

With the Bal Puraskar added to his accolades, Vaibhav’s journey is moving at a lightning pace. Reports suggest he will likely step away from the remainder of the Vijay Hazare Trophy to focus on his next big challenge.
The young batting sensation is expected to join the Indian Under-19 squad for the upcoming U-19 World Cup, scheduled to begin on January 15.
